Research
Through our collaborations with research centers, genetic investigation is given to families with a history of hereditary kidney diseases. This provides the opportunity for early and targeted diagnosis, early monitoring and counseling to asymptomatic family members, even before they have clinical manifestation of the disease, aiming at a better outcome and prognosis of their kidney disease.
Diseases and conditions monitored in our Outpatients Clinics
- Investigation of new-onset kidney disease
- Acute kidney injury
- Chronic kidney disease of multiple etiology (e.g. diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephrosclerosis, hereditary kidney diseases, primary glomerulopathy)
- Cardio-renal syndrome
- Electrolyte and acid-base balance disturbances
- End-stage renal disease on renal replacement therapy (patients on dialysis, peritoneal dialysis or kidney transplantation)
- Pre-transplant screening and wok-up for kidney transplantation
- Management of idiopathic arterial hypertension
- Investigation of secondary arterial hypertension
